 |
1949 The Foundation stone for Engel was laid in 1949 by Heinz Engel and Alois Brugger in Weingarten in Scherzach street. They started with the distribution of technical fasteners for screwing, nailing, riveting, gluing, welding and soldering, as well as tools. |

| 1964 The first building is occupied in the industrial estate Bechters with 25 employees. 1969 After the departure of Alois Brugger the company is converted into Heinz Engel KG: 1979 The company expands to 2.500 qm by adding an extension. 1980 In rented premises the first high-bay storage is set up with 1.400 pallet spaces. 1985 After the death of Heinz Engel Gertrud Engel takes over the company management. |

1989 A new modern building in the industrial estate Welte is occupied. At the same time a tailormade IT system is being introduced. |

1999 The company celebrates its 50th anniversary, and the extension building erected in 1998 is officially opened. |

| 2005 This year brought 2 large events at once. Mrs. Engel celebrated her 20th anniversary as managing director with a big feast. And at the end of 2005 our extension building was completed. |

2009 Formation of the joint distribution company ROENGEL S.R.L. in Giurgiu (Romania) in January 2009. www.roengel.ro Engel company celebrates 60 years anniversary. |

| 2010 The formation of UVO-TRADE GmbH in August was founded for container affairs between our customers and various suppliers from Far East. Formation of the Company AS-Sistem in Smarje pri Jelsah with our slovenian bussines partner. |
